How CureAbroad verifies every clinic and protects every payment

Trust is the core product. Every layer of CureAbroad — from the verification audit to the escrow engine — exists so that a patient can book a procedure in another country with the same confidence they'd have booking a hotel room.

1. Clinic & surgeon verification

• JCI & accreditation audit. Each clinic's accreditation is validated against the issuing authority. Clinics without verifiable accreditation are labeled "Unverified — Details Pending" and cannot accept bookings.
• Surgeon licensing. Every surgeon's medical license is checked against their national medical council before their profile is published.
• Malpractice coverage. Verified clinics must carry active malpractice insurance, surfaced on the provider profile.

2. Milestone escrow protection

Payments are never sent directly to a clinic upfront. Funds are locked in escrow and released only as verified milestones are met:

• Stage 1 — Booking Lock (20%): reserves the surgeon's schedule and operating room.
• Stage 2 — Clinic Check-In (50%): released only when the patient is physically checked in at the facility.
• Stage 3 — Post-Op Sign-Off (30%): disbursed after the patient signs off on the completed procedure in-app.

If a milestone is not met, funds remain in escrow and a dispute can be raised. The clinic is paid only for work confirmed delivered.

3. Data privacy (HIPAA / GDPR)

Medical intake photos and health history are processed through encrypted, access-controlled storage. Clinic staff and surgeons only see the intake data for assessments assigned to them. Read the full Privacy Policy.

4. Reviews tied to real bookings

A patient can only leave a review after a completed, escrow-verified booking. This eliminates fake reviews and ensures every rating reflects a real transaction between a real patient and the clinic.
